Sophie BVM BVS MRCVS
Veterinary SurgeonSophie graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2015 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Surgery (BVM BVS). With more than ten years of veterinary experience, she has dedicated much of her career to Emergency and Critical Care (ECC), where she has developed advanced skills in managing complex medical and surgical emergencies.
As a sole-charge ECC veterinarian at a busy out-of-hours hospital, Sophie has extensive experience treating critically ill patients, from trauma and respiratory emergencies to complex endocrine conditions and emergency surgeries. She particularly enjoys the challenge of emergency medicine and takes pride in helping pets through some of their most difficult moments.
Sophie has strong interests in diagnostic imaging, ultrasonography and emergency surgery, allowing her to provide rapid diagnoses and effective treatment plans for her patients. Her calm and organised approach helps reassure both clients and colleagues during high-pressure situations.
Outside of work, Sophie enjoys travelling and has a keen interest in languages, speaking French and having varying levels of proficiency in several other languages. She is also passionate about veterinary education and has supported the training of veterinary students and recent graduates throughout her career.
