very cautious about the changing COVID risks – we’re resuming normal appointment lengths and allowing restricted numbers into reception. Please wear a face-covering unles exempt. Only one adult +/- a child can come into the consulting rooms. As well as Iffley Road Monday-Saturday, Wheatley surgery is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday! Call us if you have any queries or worries, but please don’t bring your pet to the surgery without an appointment. Urgent & emergency cases will always be seen, the out of hours service accessed by calling the usual numbers.
Seeing your pet
With mounting pressure for appointments we can use a combination of video, phone and emailed images in many cases to provide advice. Please allow us to guide you in this respect, there are legal restrictions in relation to prescription drugs. To access a video consultation find the address bar in your browser (not Google) enter https://whereby.com/iffley.vets then ‘knock’ to enter. When you come to the practice for anything please wear a face covering, if you cannot, please inform staff when making your appointment. On arrival please call us or knock at the door.
Our Exciting News!
Since November 2021, after struggling through the COVID lockdown periods, we’re delighted to have joined the wider Medivet community and will benefit from admin support and access to new facilities and specialities. We’ve devolved responsibility for our Out-of-Hours cover to the 24-hour facility in Woodstock (who will be able to access your notes with your consent), letting us stay fresh and have time to develop the practice and facilities to benefit all. Overall this will give you and your pet a better, more comprehensive service, from the friendly team you already know.

We advise, diagnose and treat all your pets at our modern and progressive, friendly practice. Both our sites have car parking and we're pleased to join other Oxford practices in using the Woodstock Medivet 24h hospital to provide Out-of-Hours emergency care for your pets.
Where
We have two surgeries for your convenience, our main site at Iffley Road in Oxford and a branch at Roman Road, Wheatley. Once you’ve registered at one, you can make appointments at either. Our vets work across both sites, too.
When
We are open six days a week at Iffley Road, and currently 3 days at Wheatley due to covid-induced staffing issues. We provide emergency out of hours cover through the Woodstock 24h hospital and offer home visits if necessary.
Who
The practice is headed by veterinary surgeons Cameron Forbes and Katharine Morrison, ably assisted by Bruce Stevens and Jessica Upton, both with many years' experience and helped by our fantastic veterinary nursing and reception teams. We look after “normal” small animals, while expert Bruce Maclean advises on more exotic creatures, including lizards, tortoises and seahorses!

Keeping your pets healthy and happy is our top priority - everything they could possibly need is covered here at Iffley Vets. For more involved cases we have close relationships with several referral centres and will adivse you of your options.
Current Opening Hours with the COVID-19 restrictions
In consideration of public and staff safety we have for the time being altered our Opening Times: Iffley Road surgery is 8:30am to 6:15pm Monday to Friday and 8:30am to 2:15pm on Saturday. Our Wheatley surgery is 9am to 6pm Monday, Tuesday & Thursday. These may change at short notice so check here first or call us if you are unsure. You will always be able to speak to a vet or nurse 24/7 for urgent advice.
